Through Jazz

The Heart of Jazz is comprised of jazz lovers, from many fields — jazz music, law, architecture, filmmaking, finance, journalism and business — whose common goal is to create equity and build community through jazz.

We provide university scholarships for jazz studies and mentorship to minority students seeking careers in jazz. We develop, promote, deliver and sponsor jazz events in partnership with underserved communities. Through free events, we reintroduce jazz, provide a forum for young musicians to perform in front of larger audiences and build community.
